The third workshop of the CO-Temporary # 2 Itu Apa Island project will host by the Taiwanese artist group --Working Hard (artist KUO Po-Yu and SHE Wen-Ying) and the Indonesian comics artsit Nisa. The "street vendor" culture is one of Asia's most distinctive dietary pattern. Most of the vendors will pull a handy stall around, either stay at one spot on the street or go around in the city selling those delicious foods. In Indonesia, those vendors are known as Angkringan, selling snacks like fried foods, instant noodles, and rice on the street. Also same as in Taiwan known as the ” lōo-pinn-tànn-á” ,the vendor that you can find on the street in both urban and also the suburban area, especially nearby the campuses, night markets, or tourist attractions. Just putting on your slippers and shorts, the street vendors next door is always the best choice to satisfy your hungry stomach with coin price and delicious foods. The food taste of street vendors and the eating habits between Taiwan and Indonesia also reflect different cultures and the local customs. In this workshop, we will guide participants to discuss and share the culture and eating habits of the street stands in their own country, and then brainstorm a comic dialogue and image, together with transfer techniques to combines the images with physical objects. Let’s come and enjoy a manga transfer experience full of conversations, funny situations, and adorable street vendors.
